The Business
Biotec is a global Clinical Trials Supply company specialising in the storage and distribution of temperature sensitive biopharmaceuticals. With the introduction of the Clinical Trials directive in 2004, clinical trial material for use in the EU had to be certified by a Qualified Person. Biotec can perform this service for its clients and enables the company to provide a through-process service.

A growing business, Biotec has reached maximum capacity in its current building and needed support in funding a new purpose-built factory in Bridgend, to open in 2007. The project also includes investment in more equipment and skilled individuals to realise the growth potential envisaged due to the company’s unique position in a niche market.

How we helped
Our corporate team, Mark Jones and Ravi Nalliah, based in Cardiff, have worked closely with Biotec. Their role has involved:

  • Preparing financial forecasts and cash flows to help raise the finance
  • Creating business plans to improve the business viability and access funding.
  • Managing and negotiating the successful £340K RSA grant which is part of a larger £1.5million investment

B&A will also be Biotec’s ongoing accountants and professional advisors, taking them through this growth phase of their company.
