Newsquest is one of the UK’s largest regional newspaper publishers with more than 200 newspapers, magazines and trade publications, a weekly readership of 13 million and a weekly circulation of 10 million.
There has been a period of consolidation in certain sectors of the media industry with the changing habits of readers and advertisers. NewsQuest sought to restructure internally to enable greater efficiency of operations and there was an opportunity to establish a new division in Wales, bringing new activities and employment.
NewsQuest has been awarded grant to support capital expenditure and the creation and safeguarding of jobs. The new business division will increase the importance of Wales within the sector.
We supported the company by preparing a business plan and commentary supporting the project as well as providing advice on the presentation of the projections and project benefits. We liaised with the Welsh Government throughout the process to minimise the time commitment whilst using our experience and knowledge of the detailed criteria of the grant scheme to maximise outcome for the company.
