Sage hints & tips – Quick Print feature

In Sage 50 Accounts 2012, you can use the new Quick Print feature to print invoices, quotations and orders with just one click. You don’t need to select which layout or printer to use, making the process faster and easier.

You can set the default layouts you want to use in Settings > Invoice & Order Defaults > Quick Print tab. Once you’ve done this, to print a selected invoice, quotation, sales order or purchase order, from within the relevant module click Quick Print.

Sage hints & tips – Nominal link, lock date feature

If you use the nominal link and Sage 50 Accounts 2012, there’s an important update that you should install.

Sage 50 Accounts 2012 has a Lock Date feature where you can lock down a period so that specified users are restricted from posting transactions into the locked period.

If you attempt to post the nominal link into a locked period and you log into accounts as a user who does not have access to locked periods, a message appears to say that it has been successful, however no transactions have been posted to accounts.

Sage hints & tips – Sage 50 Mobile app launch

The Sage 50 Mobile app is totally free of charge and is currently available for the iPhone and Blackberry. It will be available for Android phones and iPads later this year.

With Sage 50 Mobile you’ll have real-time instant access to your customers, suppliers, Products and Pricing, Bank and Financials, where ever you are and whenever you need it.

The service is simple to set up and easy to use. It’s great for a variety of users who can have read and write access levels set up according to their needs but don’t necessarily need in-depth accounts knowledge.

Sage hints & tips – Advancing pay

It’s that time of year again when your employees are taking their summer holidays. If you need to pay their wages before they jet off, you can use the Advance Pay option in Sage 50 Payroll.

Using this option ensures that tax and national insurance is correctly calculated over the whole holiday period rather than in one lump sum.

In Sage 50 Payroll you can pay an employee in advance, for example when they take holiday and want to receive their holiday pay before the holiday period.

To ensure that they are not processed again accidentally during the holiday period, Sage 50 Payroll also flags the employee as being on holiday.
